Big money for Liberian Women….
Denmark has pledged 20-million United States dollars to Liberian women under the Millennium Development Goals (MDG).
President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf says the money will be used to achieve the phase of women empowerment and women projects implementation under the Millennium Development Goals (MDG).
President Johnson-Sirleaf, urged Liberian women to strive toward achieving the millennium Development Goal objectives, noting, Liberia has been chosen as a model country for the MDG.
The Liberian Leader was speaking Tuesday at the Monrovia City Hall where a five day workshop exclusively for women is taking place.
She cautioned the women not to give credence to what she calls, negative propaganda against her government, but they should remain focused on avenues to improve the Liberian Society.
According to her, no amount of negative propaganda will distract her attention from implementing government’s policy agenda in the interest of the Liberian people.
Speaking earlier, Gender Development Minister Varbah Gayflor, pledged the women’s unflinching support to President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf’s Government.
