President Sirleaf cautions Immigration Officers…
President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf says, continuous illegal mining in the Sapo National Park in Sinoe County is robbing government of huge resources.
President Johnson-Sirleaf says the illegal activity carried out by other nationals in the sub-region continue to pose serious challenges toward economic growth and rebound .
The Liberian Chief executive attributed illegal mining to the inability of Immigration Officers to properly monitor border and crossing points.
President Johnson-Sirleaf described the situation as alarming and called for urgent and concrete steps in finding remedy to illegal cross border activities .
She specifically called on the Bureau of Immigration and Naturalization and other relevant government Agencies to design mechanisms aimed at curtailing what she calls serious immigration problems which continue to rob the country of a lot of money.
