WFP commits to improving lives of Liberians
The Deputy Country Director of the World Food Program says WFP is committed to working with the Liberian Government to strengthen cooperatives in Liberia.
Mr. Lokonga made reference to the Agriculture Ministry and the Cooperative Development Agency (CDA) which the WFP is working to promote the Purchase for Progress (PUP) project in Liberia.
Speaking during a four-day capacity building training for staff of the CDA, Mr. Lokonga said the PUP project is meant to work with rural farmers through cooperatives for rice production, among others.
He said the project can only achieve it objectives through collective efforts of the Agriculture Ministry and the cooperative Development Agency.
