Senate Pro-Temppor gets goldern African leadership award…
Senate Pro-Temperate, Cletus Wortoson has received the Golden African leadership award in Paris, France.
Senator Wortorson was among the former Nigerian Lawmaker and Governor of Aibie State to receive the golden award in Paris, France.
Speaking to reporters Thursday at the Roberts International Airport, Senator Wortoson said, the award is usually given to Africans who has contributed immensely to societal growth and transformation.
The Senate Pro-Tempor speaking in Paris, France during the award ceremony, called for entrepreneurship leadership on the continent .
Senator Wortoson described entrepreneurship leaders as one interested in the well being and improvement of its people.
At the same time the Liberian senate has cited Finance Minister, Augustine Ngafuan to appear before it on next week Tuesday to show cause why he should not be held in contempt for failing to appear before that August body Thursday.
Finance minister Ngafuan was invited by the Liberian senate for the purpose of updating it on the status and the administration of the 2009/2010 fiscal budget.
According to the presiding officer, Senator Daniel Naathen, Minister Ngafuan did not show up neither did he write any communication to that August body to show why he did not appear.
Senator Naathen said the Liberian Senate only saw Central Bank Governor Mills Jones and two deputies of the Finance Ministry.
The Senate said the refusal of the Minister to appear before it as requested without any excuse impeded the work of the Liberia Senate which is contemptuous under article forty four of the Liberian Constitution.
Also the lower House Chief Clerk, Antt, James Kaba, has categorically denied any planned by him and former Senate Protempore, Isaac Nyenabo to organized lecture series for the members of the House of Representatives.
Senator Isaac Nyenabo on a local radio said the house of representative was in the wrong to have sentenced county officials of Bomi and Montserrado counties.
He said, he and chief clerk James Kaba were organizing a lecture a series for the members of the House of Representatives.
Chief Clerk Kaba said, members of the lower house have no need for any lecture series as they are informed about legislative matters.
Meanwhile Grand Kru County Representative Wesseh Blamo said, senator Nyenabo does not have legislative credential to conduct a lecture series for the lower house.
He said if senator Nyenabo had the requisite credential, he could not have been booted out of the leadership of the Liberia senate.
