Govt. closes its Lofa County border with Guinea
The Liberian government has closed its Lofa border with Guinea following the recent violence in Lofa County.
The decision is intended to prevent the illegal entry of people into Liberia, throughout Lofa County.
The Liberian government is currently investigating the recent violence in Lofa County to establish the root cause of the crisis and the reported use of fire arms by civilians.
Our Reporter in the County quotes Defense Minister Brownie Samukai as saying, that government has also banned the use of single barrel guns in the County.
Meanwhile, the Independent Committee constituted by government to probe the circumstances surrounding the Lofa Violence has concluded discussion with citizens of the County.
The Committee has also drawn up a number of recommendations based on its findings.
