The first round of action from Sunday to Friday will see eight nations compete in two groups, from which the top two in each group will advance to the Super 12 section, which consists of two groups of six.
The top two from each group will then advance to the semi-finals, from which the winners will face off in the final on November 14 at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
The West Indies are the reigning champions after winning their second title in 2016.
