Netflix has announced that Kanye West’s documentary “Jeen-Yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy” will be released on February 16.

The streaming service has described the film as a “one-time, three-week global event” and it will chronicle the rapper’s colorful and at times controversial entire career.

“Act 1” of the series will also hit theaters on February 10 and feature never-before-seen footage of Kanye in the studio and in concert.

The film is directed by Coodie and Chike, who are the originators of many music videos for West, including “Jesus Walks” and “Through the Wire”.

A recently released trailer for the documentary shows Kanye in the studio in 2002, embroiled in an argument over whether he’s a genius or not.

The teaser clip also sees West, 44, in the studio with music stars including Jay-Z, Pharrell Williams and Kid Cudi.

‘jeen-Yuhs’ is scheduled to perform at the Sundance Film Festival which takes place virtually later this month.

Film producer and TIME Studios President Ian Orefice said, “Filmmakers Coodie and Chike have created an amazing film and we are honored that they trusted TIME Studios to produce jeen-yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy. “

It was recently reported that Kanye – who legally changed his name to Ye last year – was desperate to perform at the last minute on New Years Eve (12.31.21) but had to abandon his plans after his team could not get a place in time.

A source explained, “His team called everyone in Miami to ask if they had a place to do a concert. At 6:15 pm New York Day. People returned to their glasses of champagne.

“He wanted such a big group, like 50 or 60 people. A lot of places just didn’t have the space.”
