TV cameras visit a sold-out Brandywell and Derry City fans can go home happy after frustrating Shamrock Rovers.

Neither side has been perfect so far. Rovers looked sloppy defensively against St Patrick’s and UCD, while Derry allowed Dundalk weak goals last Friday.

Rovers love the surface area and size of Brandywell’s terrain. They are rightly favourites, but with Jamie McGonigle in great form, City should give it a shot. They made some truly impressive signings this off-season and under Ruaidhri Higgins they have more points than any bar Rovers team.

The bet of the night is that St Patrick will win at home to Sligo Rovers, who missed their season opener due to snow and are rated on their third-place finish last season, which they will do incredibly well to emulate.

The Saints are title contenders and appear to have solid chances to draw against a Sligo side with a lot to prove after losing John Mahon and Johnny Kenny to the SPL.

Finn Harps probably deserves to be UCD favorites but it’s hard to call, while the Bohemians look vulnerable favorites at home to Dundalk in what is their first competitive game.

Goals seem a certainty in Dalymount given the Bohemians’ major off-season starts, but also their abundance of attacking quality and Dundalk’s shaky defense in Week 1.

Shelbourne looks deserving of support from Drogheda, who also had their scheduled opener canceled due to weather. Damien Duff’s men were good in many areas against Pat’s and should surely be the favorites here.

In Division 1, Waterford should hammer Bray at RSC, while Treaty Utd should have no problem overtaking Athlone at home to Limerick.
