Nicolas Cage thinks he finally “got it right” with his fifth wife Riko Shibata.

The 58-year-old actor – who was previously married to Patricia Arquette, Lisa Marie Presley, Alice Kim and Erika Koike – wed the 27-year-old actress last February and although he knows how to walk down the aisle as many times as he has done “many”, the star hopes this will be the last.

He told the Los Angeles Times, “I’m really happily married. I know five is a lot. But I think I got it right this time.

The ‘Mandy’ actor has a pet crow named Hoogan and Nicolas finds it hilarious that the bird started insulting him.

He said, “He started insulting me…it’s comical, at least it is to me.” When I leave the room, he will say “Bye”, then “A******”.

“Crows are very smart. And I like the way they look, the Edgar Allan Poe side. I like the gothic element. I’m gothic.

The ‘Con Air’ star is a huge animal lover and described his four-year-old Maine Coon Merlin as his ‘best friend’ but insisted his other cat, Teegra, didn’t care to have a favourite.

He said, “He doesn’t give ***.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Nicolas admitted that he no longer liked the word “actor”.

He said: “It’s a word I don’t like anymore, ‘act’. “I sound like a pretentious fart for saying ‘thespian’ but acting now has become like lying. Looks like I’m lying. If you’re a great actor, you’re a great liar.

“‘Thespian’ seems more about finding a truth within and then projecting it for others to get. At least that’s the case for me. But I’m not always on the same wavelength as everyone else.”
